Denpasar
A bustling, multi-cultural city, Denpasar is the largest city and capital of the island of Bali, Indonesia, located in the Southern part of Bali, bristling with temples, palaces and museums. Denpasar is centrally located and easily reached by car or taxi from the main tourist regions of south Bali.

A trip from Kuta, Legian and Seminyak will take 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. Sanur is just 15 minutes to the east and Ubud about 30 minutes to the north. Nusa Dua is about one hour to the south.

Nusa Dua
Nusa Dua is known as an enclave of large international 5-star resorts in south-eastern Bali. It is located 40 kilometers from Denpasar, the provincial capital of Bali, and administered under South Kuta District. Nusa Dua means Second Island. Mother Temple of Besakih
The Mother Temple of Besakih, or Pura Besakih, located in the village of Besakih on the southern slopes of Mount Agung in eastern Bali, is considered as the largest temple in Bali. Dated back in the 14th century, the temple was built to form a complex made up of 22 temples sit on parallel ridges. It has stepped terraces and flights of stairs which ascend to a number of courtyards and brick gateways that lead up to the main sanctuary, which is called Pura Penataran Agung. All of these are aligned along a single axis and directed towards the mountain’s peak which is considered the sacred point. At the centre of the main sanctuary, lies The Lotus Throne or Padmasana, where all the rituals focused upon.

Butterfly Park
The Bali Butterfly Park (or Taman Kupu Kupu in Indonesian language) is located at Wanasari, approximately 7 km to the north of the town of Tabanan, could be reached in about an hour and a half from Nusa Dua. The Bali Butterfly Park is one of the biggest butterfly parks in Southeast Asia as it shelters nearly a thousand species of butterflies throughout Indonesia.

Ubud Bali Cultural Center
Within two-hour drive from Nusa Dua to the north, lies the idyllic town of Ubud, broadly accepted as an aesthetic breadth and the centermost for cultural attractions and art creations in Bali.

Museum
Strategically located at the heart of the city of Denpasar, in Major Wisnu street, is the Bali Museum. Built in 1931 and designed by architect P.J. Moojen, the exterior walls, courtyards and gates designed in the style of a Balinese royal palace. The museum houses an array of Balinese-style building designs, as well as displaying stone sculptures from the 16th and 19th centuries, ritual masks, musical instruments, traditionally-made textiles and puppets from the 19th century.
